What have I been up to? What's new to the Region Compare toolset?
This month, our scheduled release has also become a feature release (hence it's a little late)!.
One of the most popular features this month has been the Foundational Model (FM) comparison tool and it's recieved a lot of attention in the backend too. We've now improved the performance of this feature making it over 80% faster to run. We've also applied a UI improvement (beauty is in the eye of the beholder right...) which will make it easier to read the FMs.
Since the release at the start of the month a few issues arose and I've tried to make them better including, better secret management using AWS Secrets Manager and self policed QA on Generative output using Amazon Bedrock.
Release AnnoucementNow that Bedrock is expanding in region I find a common question asked is "What Large Language Models are in my region?". This new feature see's the addition of the Region Compare Tool Kit and it's first "Tool" is LLM Compare.
What's a "Tool"? - A tool is a more specific, targetted querty of cross region capability.
This release also see's some backend improvements in data structure and organisation
After the original release much feedback came in to make it easier to use or more feature rich. This release enables user friendly region titles. Currently impacts Service List and Region Compare.
